Customer Testimonials
“Snowlift has been handling airport snow removal at major airports in major cities such as New York, Chicago and Boston for over 50 years. With airline travel growing at unprecedented rates, our airline customers are finding the limited space on airports more critical to their operations than ever before. This means that piling of snow is not an option for them. Snowlift developed a relationship with Trecan over 40 years ago and we currently have the largest fleet of Trecan Snowmelters in North America. The ease with which our Trecan Snowmelters remove large piles of snow helps us to ensure that our customers will not face any costly delays or cancellations, which is critical in these economic times. Our fleet of Trecan Snowmelters helps us to continue to provide the top notch snow removal service that our customers have come to expect of Snowlift.”

When you consider the record amount of snowfall experienced over the last number of years in conjunction with the loss of available vacant land in the downtown core of the City for possible snow dump sites, the Trecan 60-PD Snowmelter has been a definite asset in controlling our snow storage capacity at our existing snow disposal sites. In situations when our sites has reached capacity during our BIA snow removal process, the Trecan 60-Portable Snowmelter provides us the opportunity to establish a temporary overflow site at the City’s Bayfront Park where we can dump and have the snow melted within days, resulting in little disruption to the public’s use of the Park. Thank you Trecan for providing a reliable product that forms an integral part of the City of Hamilton’s snow disposal program.

“Most of our snow loading is done on nightshift to maximize productivity when traffic volumes are low. The down side to this is obviously the fact that valuable day shift resources are lost. By setting our Trecan 135-PD Snowmelter in a location closer to our loading activities at night, we have significantly reduced our haul times, and subsequently the number of resources required to be placed on nightshift for this activity”.

ULS Landscaping purchased the very first Trecan Snowmelter in Western Canada in the fall of 2008. The 80 PD offers the versatility of servicing areas with limited access without sacrificing the capacity to efficiently dispose of large snow volumes. Along with the superior performance of this machine, it has served as a tremendous marketing tool for our company and Trecan’s ongoing support in launching this new service has been excellent.

“Barrie’s winter maintenance policy in the downtown is to remove snow banks when the height reaches 400 mm and intersection sight distance is impeded. The traditional snow removal process utilizing blowers, trucks, graders and many staff operators had become very expensive as well filling our snow disposal site beyond capacity. Barrie purchased a Trecan 135PD snow melter resulting in substantial operational savings, reduced staff involvement, vastly improved service levels and a cleaner downtown. Added value included ability to remove snow from all municipal parking area's avoiding contractor expense”

“The Ottawa Hospital purchased a new Trecan 60 - PD and it has worked like a charm, since it’s purchase. Once the contractor was fully aware of it’s potential and when we hit some heavy snow periods the unit ran like a “Lucky Charm”. We were the only site in the City of Ottawa snow free and our overall operations serving Eastern Ontario as the trauma centre was not affected. The unit not only saved the Ottawa Hospital money by eliminating trucking and dump fees, it also helps reduce our slip and falls and better manage our site”.

“The 2008 – 2009 winter season was our first to use the Trecan 80 – PD Snowmelter. Geisinger’s main objective when purchasing the Trecan 80-PD was to maintain open parking in our 5600 space parking lots and to eliminate the cost of trucking snow from our main patient and employee lots to our outer parking lots. The model 80 worked perfectly. It allowed us to accumulate snow at specific locations within our lots and by the following day have all spaces open for use. The unit not only saved money by eliminating trucking but I no longer need to pile snow on our islands resulting in damage to the landscaping beds”.
